Report
In 2007, the first year of the European Cup, Dodder Dynamoes, representing Ireland finished 2nd only losing to London Chromies 10-3 in the Final. In 2008 Dodder Dynamoes again reached the Final, losing 16-11 to Baker Tomkins, another British team. Dodder finally won the title at the third attempt in 2009, and in 2010 they again finished second with Batpak, also from Ireland in third. Limerick finished a very creditable second in 2011, posting an 8-6 Wins-Losses Record, losing out to London’s Chromies [2][3]. In 2012, Dodder Dynamoes finished 6th out of an increased field of 8, posting a 3-5 record, with Lisicke of Slovakia taking advantage of the tournament being played in neighbouring Czech Republic to win the tournament. About
The European Softball Federation organised the first Coed Slowpitch European Cup in 2007. From 2007-2012 it was held every year and from 2012-present it has been held every two years, with the two previous National Champions now entering each tournament as well as the holders of the European Super Cup. The Irish representatives are the winners of the Softball Ireland National Club Championship – the annual tournament between the winners of Ireland’s Provincial Leagues – now Leinster (East) and Ulster (North) and once including Munster (South). |
