About the AFL

The Arizona Fall League features 6 Top Prospects from each of the 30 Major League Baseball (MLB) teams – a total of 180 players. The 2019 Major League Baseball All-Star game featured 43 former AFL players, and over 60% of AFL players make a Major League Roster, including 321 All-Stars, 19 MVPs (Most Valuable Players), 6 Cy Young Award Winners and 7 World Series MVPs [3].

The Arizona Fall League was created as an easily accessible out of season Winter Baseball League, as there was concern that some of the top Baseball players left during the offseason to play in the Caribbean (where Baseball is usually played over the MLB Winter Offseason) and there was difficulty monitoring the players [3].
